Home Grown Tomatoes: a tomato tasting program

Come one, come all tomato enthusiasts. Following the Spring lecture on growing tomatoes, here is the opportunity for all of us to taste the results of gardeners' hard won bounty. Mimi Luebbermann will lead this tomato tasting program, including the giant tomato weigh-in, best tomato award, and a demonstration of seedsaving. Tell us your stories of battling tomato hornworms, your compost secrets, and your midnight snail raids. Bring your favorite tomatoes to taste. The Heirloom Tomato Cookbook

  • Bring in Your Home-Grown Tomatoes
  • Taste Your Neighbors’ Tomatoes
  • Discover New Varieties to Grow Next Year
  • Share Your Gardening Successes and Disasters
  • Giant Tomato Weigh-In
  • Take Home Seeds for the 2011 Season

Ms. Luebbermann is a local author of more than 20 books on gardening and cooking, including several on tomatoes. She is also a contributor to numerous national cooking and gardening magazines. Ms Luebbermann will be selling her book at this event. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Petaluma Library.
