Security issues

Lock When you log in to our wireless Internet gateway with your e-mail address, this is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer(SSL).

Unlock Once you log in, all further communications are passed through to the Internet without encryption. We cannot guarantee the security of any personal information that you transmit over the wireless connection after you log in to our network.

There is no encryption between your laptop and our wireless access point. WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) are not supported on the public wireless Internet service at the library. In your wireless settings, please turn off any WEP, WPA, or similar security settings in order to connect to our wireless service.
